The Grooming Gangs Scandal: Britain’s Biggest State Failure

Zia Yusuf has sent a strong message about one of the worst failures in British history.
He says the grooming gangs scandal is the greatest state failure Britain has ever seen. Public bodies and politicians helped, or failed to stop, the mass rape and sexual exploitation of thousands of children.
What Happened
For many years, gangs – mostly men of Pakistani heritage – targeted young girls.
The victims were mainly white working-class girls.
Instead of protecting the children, many in power stayed silent. Politicians, councils, police and the media avoided the truth because they worried about “political correctness”.
This “conspiracy of silence” lasted for decades. Even now, state-enabled child sexual exploitation still happens – including in places like Wigan and Makerfield.
Reform UK’s Plan
Zia Yusuf says words and inquiries are not enough. Real action is needed.
A Reform government would take these steps within the first 100 days:
• Full openness
Release every file, email, memo and record about grooming gangs from the past 40 years.
This includes documents from central government, local councils, police forces and the Home Office.
Victims’ names will be protected, but no official will be allowed to hide.
• More money for justice
Increase funding for the police and National Crime Agency taskforce by £300 million – taking the total to £400 million.
This will help them properly investigate the criminals and the public servants who let it happen (police officers, social workers and politicians).
Reform says they will give investigators every resource they need to deliver justice for the victims.
A Clear Message
Zia Yusuf says:
“Prime Minister Nigel Farage will see to it that justice is finally done for the victims of this horrific scandal.”
He ends with a call for support: “With your help, we will get him there.”
Why This Matters
This scandal has destroyed thousands of young lives. Many people feel the system failed the most vulnerable children for far too long.
Reform UK argues that only real transparency and strong action can begin to repair the damage.
